The Meeker Police Department is accepting applications for the position of Police Cadet. An opening exists for a qualified candidate. Meeker is a beautiful town in rural Northwest Colorado with a population of about 2,500. The area is known for our great hunting, fishing and other outdoor recreational sports.
A Police Cadet will be required to attend a Basic POST Police Academy, which is approximately 15 weeks long. The academy will be paid for by the Town of Meeker, and the cadet will be paid while attending the academy.
In addition to a salary starting at $57,637 – $60,000 (after successful completion of POST academy) for the first year, plus overtime, the town offers some excellent benefits to include:

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
·21 years of age at the time of hire.
·High School Diploma or Equivalent.
··Ability to successfully complete a Colorado POST Police Academy.
·Valid Colorado driver’s license, or the ability to obtain within 30 days.
·No felony charges, disqualifying misdemeanors, or domestic violence in history.

The selection process may include completion of a basic written test, oral board interview, background investigation, integrity interview, polygraph exam, psychological exam, medical exam and a drug screen.
