The Town of
Meeker is currently accepting applicants for the position of police
officer. The Town of Meeker serves a population of about 2,500
citizens and currently employs six full time police officers.
Officers are responsible for the enforcement of State Statutes,
Municipal Ordinances, Criminal Investigations, Traffic Enforcement as
well as other duties assigned by the Chief of Police.
Our
officers work four 10-hour shifts with three days off with take home
cars. The Town of Meeker offers health, dental, prescription,
vision and life insurance paying 100% Rocky Mountain Health Plan
coverage for full time employees and dependants. The Town also
offers retirement - 12% matched by the Town after the employee's first
anniversary date, vacation, sick leave and 11 holidays per year.

Administrative Assistant Position
The Town of Meeker is accepting applications for the position
of Administrative Assistant. The Town is seeking a self-starter with
good office skills, excellent verbal and written communication, accurate
and strong attention to detail, basic computer literacy. Experience a
plus. Starting salary range, based on education and experience, $
30,000-$32,000 plus generous benefits package. Work hours 8:00 a.m. to
5:00 p.m. winter months, flex hours in summer if preferred.

POSITION
DESCRIPTION
GENERAL
PURPOSE
The Coordinator will
work closely with the Town Administrator and Town Clerk assisting with
administrative duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Will be responsible to
take minutes and type them in final form for the Town Board and Planning
Commission meetings. Assist Town Manager writing and managing grants,
working with committees, writing general correspondence, preparing
meeting packets, collecting and researching information, preparing bid
requests, filing and other general office work, such as; answering the
telephone, waiting on customers and other duties as assigned.
DESIRED MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and
Experience:
(A) Graduation from high
school. College degree beneficial. General office skills such as typing,
working knowledge of computer word processing, spreadsheets required.
Grant writing experience a plus. Experience in public relations, general
office work or related area would be beneficial. (B) Any equivalent
combination of education and experience will be considered.
Necessary Knowledge,
Skills and Abilities:
(A) Literate with
computers. Has experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point or
similar programs, computer graphics. Internet site design/maintenance
experience would be beneficial.
(B) Must be energetic,
and able to effectively handle stressful situations. Must have the
ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with
volunteers, committees, and other governmental entities. Must have
good organizational skills, be detail oriented, stay focused on current
projects, maintain a positive attitude, develop successful working
relationships, work under pressure, work with frequent interruptions;
work within a team environment and also be able to work independently as
required. Must be innovative, self-directed, goal oriented and maintain
a sense of humor.

irrigating, weeding and other duties as assigned. Must hold valid
driver's license and be 16 years or older.
